What helped shape me into the person I am today
Growing up in New Jersey, I was surrounded by a mix of diverse cultures and experiences that shaped my perspective. Moving at 16 was a big shift, as I had to adjust to a new environment and make sense of a changing world. The transition wasn’t easy, but it pushed me to grow, adapt, and find new ways to stay connected with my roots while exploring new opportunities.
Moving to Venice, Florida, was a challenging adjustment. The change in pace and environment made it hard to feel at home, and I often found myself missing New Jersey. During those tough times, watching films became my escape. They offered a sense of familiarity, a way to get lost in stories that helped me feel connected to something larger than the changes I was facing. It was through those movies that I found comfort and a temporary way to forget the distance between my old life and the new one.
In 2020, I finishing my Associate’s degree in Arts at the State College of Florida Manatee-Sarasota. This was a pivotal moment, one that solidified my foundation in the arts. While it felt like a major accomplishment, I knew deep down there was something greater ahead. The experiences and knowledge I gained there sparked a deeper drive, pushing me to explore new opportunities and follow my passion further. It was clear that this was just the beginning of a much bigger journey.
After finishing my Associate’s degree, I faced a tough decision about where to complete my Bachelor’s. With so many options available, I was torn between different schools, each offering unique opportunities and strengths. It was a daunting choice, one that would shape my future, but I knew I had to carefully consider where I could grow the most, both academically and personally. The decision wasn’t easy, but it was an important step in determining the path that would lead me toward my ultimate goals.
It was a difficult decision, but my choice fell on UCF. I am currently pursuing a Film BA, set to graduate in May 2026, with a minor in Digital Media. My studies focus on storytelling, production, and digital creativity, equipping me with both technical skills and artistic insight for the industry.
